Library Editions

An expanded hardcover gives a book’s most engaged readers more to explore. The additional material can bring the research behind the text into view, or carry the subject beyond the limits of the original manuscript.

The editions

One book, two print editions

The paperback Reader’s Edition contains the complete standard text, as does the EPUB. The hardcover Library Edition adds approximately 50–75 pages of exclusive supplemental material. Both print editions use the same cover concept and typefaces; larger type and more generous spacing give the hardcover a more spacious reading experience.

The supplement

What belongs in the expanded edition?

The strongest supplement follows the interests the book has already awakened. Its contents are chosen for the particular subject and available material. These are possible treatments, not a fixed contents list.

An interview at length

A substantial conversation can pursue questions left outside the manuscript, explore a discovery behind the research, or let the author address an objection in greater depth. Edited questions and answers give that conversation a form suited to the page.

Documents in context

A letter, speech, or transcript can be reproduced beyond the few lines quoted in the main text. Introductions and contextual notes explain why it belongs and how it relates to the book’s argument.

Photographs with their stories

A photograph may need more than a name and a date. Captions can recover the circumstances around an image, identify a place that has changed, or connect the people pictured to events in the text.

A return to the subject

An afterword can consider later developments; a chronology can make events easier to follow; an annotated reading list can carry the reader into further study.

The package

Reader’s Edition + Library Edition

From $8,000

The engagement brings the standard and expanded editions into a shared design, with consultation on what the supplement should contain and how it belongs alongside the main book.

  • Three cover concepts, two interior alternatives, and two revision rounds for the selected cover and shared interior design are included.
  • Planning, organization, design, and integration of approximately 50–75 pages of reasonably finished, supplied supplemental material are included. Research and creation of new material are separately quoted.
  • Basic preparation of up to five supplied main-book images is included across editions. The proposal specifies supplemental material types and the supplement’s separate image allowance.
  • Copy explaining the editions and their differences, plus an Amazon A+ comparison-content concept and copy, is included.
  • Delivery includes KDP-ready PDFs for paperback and hardcover, the standard-text EPUB with navigation and quality review, front- and back-cover PNGs, and one promotional design adapted for Twitter/X, Facebook, and Instagram.

Library Edition Content Development

Custom quotation

The most valuable addition to a book may still exist as an unanswered question, a box of research, or a conversation that has never been recorded. Content development turns that potential into material worth publishing alongside the main text. An extended interview, a selection of documents with context, or an afterword can give the expanded edition a perspective that readers cannot find in the standard book.

  • Editorial planning. Review of the subject and available research establishes the proposed material and the work needed to prepare it.
  • Research, interviews, and writing. An engagement may include preparing and conducting interviews, transcript editing, contextual notes and captions, an afterword, a chronology, or an annotated reading list. The proposal specifies the research, writing, and editing responsibilities.
  • Agreed deliverables. Material types, quantity, and final scope are established in a separate quotation. The Library Edition design package already includes recommendations and the organization and layout of reasonably finished, supplied material.

Starting prices apply to conventional, text-led main manuscripts of up to 75,000 words. Each proposal defines the final scope.
